Welcome to Doctoral Chevrons

This newsletter features the writing and research of faculty, staff, students, and friends of the Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Doctor of Business Administration program. Doctoral Chevrons is published three times a year in February, June, and October.

Call for Student Submissions

We are accepting student submissions for upcoming editions of Doctoral Chevrons. Submissions discussing business research, theory, or applied business practice are welcome. Each piece should be between 500-1500 words and must follow APA guidelines. For consideration, please submit your work to mcollins@smumn.edu.

Run “2” For SMU: Mental Health Awareness

This October, we are working to become mentally healthier as mental health is the foundation to physical health. That is why we will be hosting a virtual walk in order to raise mental health awareness. The event begins Friday, Oct. 23, at 6 a.m. and ends Sunday, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m.

Saint Mary’s annual benefit to assist Winona boy battling leukemia

Saint Mary’s will present the 19th annual Taylor Richmond Benefit Dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, March 9. The beneficiary of this year’s formal dance — open to the public — is Joseph Row of Winona. Joseph is the 11-year-old son of Darren Row who teaches in the Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics Department of Saint Mary’s.

Saint Mary’s Concert Band to perform commissioned piece

The Saint Mary’s University Concert Band will present the world-premiere performance of the composition “Nigun Prophecy” at their upcoming spring concert on Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m. in the Page Theatre. “Nigun Prophecy” was written by award-winning American composer David Avshalomov as part of the Kaplan Commission Project at Saint Mary’s.
