Because of the dangerously cold weather, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota will close all campuses and locations beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, and all day Wednesday, Jan. 30. This applies to the Winona Campus, Minneapolis Campus, Rochester Center (Cascade Meadow), Apple Valley Center, and all offsite program locations. The university hopes to resume its regular class schedule Thursday, Jan. 31; we will continue to monitor weather conditions.

All events for Tuesday evening and Wednesday are canceled.

On the residential Winona Campus, essential services — such as campus safety, residence life, and food service — will be available. Some facilities may have adjusted schedules. A separate email will be sent to the campus with specifics.

Only essential personnel should report to work. Employees with questions should contact their managers to verify if they should report to work. Human Resources will send a separate message to employees about how to report their time during the closure period.

Saint Mary’s encourages students and employees to put their safety first.
